Reach NJP/IXB and proceed to Gangtok (114 km Approx.)
- Reach NJP in the morning and continue to Gangtok by a cab. Gangtok is situated in the eastern region of the Himalayas. And from early 20th century this place had developed drastically in every aspect. Reach Gangtok and check in a hotel. Check into hotel and stay for an overnight.
Gangtok to Lachen (120 kms./5 hrs./ Alt.- 8,500 ft.)
- After an early breakfast we will move to Lachen. Lachen means Big Pass. The major attractions of the mountain town are Shingbha wild life sanctuary, Chopta Valley and Thangu. The Sikkim Government promotes the place as a tourist destination. Check into a hotel, Welcome Tea and Overnight stay waits. Typically any page about East Sikkim needs to begin off with Gangtok that is Sikkims capital and without a doubt its the most impressive humming city. Nestled at 1650 m above sea level Gangtok has good nightlife, ample gaming experiences (its one of the few places in India where gambling is legalized). - Early morning drive to Lake Gurudongmar (5225m/17143 ft) near the border with Tibet, one of the highest and largest freshwater lakes in Sikkim and back to Lachen for a late lunch. Check out Lachen and continue driving to Lachung. Lachung is a quiet little villa on the banks of the Lachung River and is the best tourist place for those who really love nature. By the way the name Lachung means small pass. Lachung is famous for its fruit production like apples, peaches and apricots are found in abundance there. Lachung means Small Pass. Lachung is another significant town of North Sikkim, the gateway to Yumthang. The valley is full of mists and forests of Rhododendron blooms. Reach Lachung and check in at the hotel and enjoy a comfortable overnight stay.
Excursion to Yumthang - Gangtok (24 km./Alt.11,800ft.)
- Yumthang is popularly known as Valley of Flowers. The place crosses through the famous hot spring known for its curative properties of skin diseases. The flowering season is from late February to mid June, when countless flowers bloom to carpet the valley in multicoloured hues of rainbow. After your visit is concluded, return to your Lachung hotel for Lunch. After lunch, you will be driven back to Gangtok. You will reach your hotel in the evening. You can spend some time exploring and gathering experiences at the last minute. Return for your overnight rest. Note: We can visit Zero point which depends on the accessibility of the route.
Excursion u2013 Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir
- Post breakfast drive for a memorable excursion tour to Tsomgo Lake. Situated at an altitude of around 17,490 ft, this is the highest lake in India and one of the highest lakes in the world. This beautiful oval-shaped lake, nearly 1 km long with an average depth of 50 ft is located in the east of Sikkim Himalaya. From here we will drive again 15 km to Baba Mandir. Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple sentries and guards here believe his spirit is still alive and he is therefore treated like a living being. They all believe that Harbhajan will guard and protect them in this very difficult terrain. We can drive further to Nathula pass (12,000 ft.) towards the Chinese border depending on the accessibility of the route. In the late afternoon, we will return to Gangtok.
